Restored country house in Yorkshire

Owners of this historic house, built in 1610 and used as a private boys school for the past 50 years, enlisted the help of interior designer James Perkins to create a blend of old and new in a contemporary context. Important period features such as the stone fireplaces, panelling and elaborate cornicing were retained while a sleek modern Mark Wilkinson kitchen was added.
