A cluster of small buildings on a farm dating back to the late 19th century were connected and extended to create a four-bedroom thatched home of impressive proportions. Michael Hogan's weekend retreat, an hour’s drive from Johannesbur, is as much about soaking in the tranquillity of the country as it is about throwing splendid parties.
