Traditional home and garden near the North Sea, Germany

A well known interior designer, Peter Nolden's professional eye immediately saw the potential of this 17th-century property when he first saw it. Being close to the North Sea, with its rough climate and winds presented a challenge for establishing the kind of garden he wanted. As the photos show, however, the challenge was won and the result is picture-perfect.
