Elegant sash windows, simple and sleek carpentry and exposed brick and stonework are all celebrated in this Georgian cottage in a village just 15 miles south of Edinburgh. The combination of the refined decorative period details with the more rustic elements of its construction is incredibly alluring and creates a welcoming home for the family who occupy it today. With all the wonderful tones and textures from the natural materials, the Bells opted for a neutral colour palette when choosing paint, with subtle green and stone shades modestly slipping into the background.
